A Late New Years Resolution

Today I got an email from the National Institute of Health telling me I needed to go in and update Audrey's account. My password was going to expire which meant I hadn't been in there in almost a year. I logged on and figured I might as well update some of her profiles while I was in there. Then came the mom guilt. There were TONS of developmental questions. Mostly about when she hit milestones. I'm not talking just the big ones. I mean, of course I remember when she started crawling but when she started banging two toys together? Fuck if I know. It didn't take me long into the survey to realize I need to do a better job of documenting Audrey's life. Not just because it's nice to look back at how far she's come. But also because apparently, it's important. That brings me to my Resolution. I will blog monthly. Minimum.

Lets catch up, shall we?

Audrey started crawling on Christmas Day. It was a pretty fantastic Christmas present. We were lucky enough to catch it on video!

In the last few days she has started pulling up to standing. No one has actually caught her doing it yet. One of us will just look over and there she is standing at the couch reaching her little fingers out as far as possible to snatch the remote! She's also cutting her first molar right now. It will be her fourth tooth. She has two gnarly looking bottom guys in the front and a third one on the top in the front. The guy on top looks normal but is giant. She got that from her Dad for sure!

As far as eating goes, she's our little champ. She self feeds table foods and will eat almost anything. We still feed her anything she can't pick up with her fingers. She's not great with utensils yet but we're working on it. She's come really far with a straw cup but is still pretty messy. She's down to just one bottle a day but we hope to be off it completely in about a month. I'm trying to find a balance between getting off the bottle and keeping her hydrated enough that she doesn't get constipated. I think juice would help but I REALLY would prefer to avoid it. Maybe just in transition though.

She's also a great sleeper. She sleeps a good ten to eleven hours at night and then one or two naps during the day. She puts her self down for the majority of her naps but we like to snuggle her to sleep at night. She really does make this whole parenting thing look easy. Now if I could just keep her out of the dog water....

Other family news, our last FET ended in a blighted ovum. So that was pretty crummy. On the upside though, we get to go to MEXICO!! We have some friends getting married in Mexico in April and almost everyone we know is going. It's going to be a BAST. We will go back to the doctor in May after we get back. If we do get pregnant in May we will have a baby in February. So happy Valentines day to us!
